Microstructure and mechanical properties of ultrafine-grained (UFG) samples of the Al-Cu-Mg-Si aluminum alloy processed by high pressure torsion have been investigated. Transmission electron microscopy and electron back scattering diffraction were used for structural investigations. The ultimate tensile strength and ductility were evaluated using tensile tests of small samples. Dynamic dissolution and precipitation in UFG samples has been observed. Special attention was paid to influence of precipitates on thermal stability of UFG samples. |
