This review describes recent developments and achievements in the field of silicoaluminophosphate nanocatalyst production particularly SAPO-11 and SAPO-34. It also explains consequent changes in activity, stability, selectivity, life time and recoverability of some of these new catalysts in different reactions, MTO in particular. SAPO nanoparticles can be obtained by manipulating template, silicon source, heating method, type and time of crystallization, and synthesis conditions like temperature or pressure. Although achieving an ideal dimension, desirable morphology, and mesoporosity resulting in a suitable catalytic performance is still a challenge, all of these investigations point out a unique result which implies considerable enhancements in selectivity, activity and life time on account of size reduction. |
