Since their introduction in the 1930s, polyurethanes have been successfully applied in many fields. They are used for insulation in construction and in mechanical engineering, for the installation of door and window frames, even in the field of medicine. Water-borne polyurethane pressure-sensitive adhesives (PUR-PSA) represent a relatively new self-adhesive group used for the production of self-adhesive tapes, labels, and protective films. A very interesting scientific area is the crosslinking process of novel water-borne polyurethane pressure-sensitive adhesives synthesized from hydroxylated polybutadiene, hydroxylated benzophenones, diisocyanates, polypropylene glycols with high molecular weight and dicarboxylic acids. |
