Recent results concerning the Poisson's ratio of three simple two-dimensional (2D) models of aperiodic structures are reviewed. The models, which consist of mono-, bi-, and tri-atomic particles interacting through the n-inverse-power-potential between the nearest-neighbouring atoms, were studied at zero temperature by computer simulations. It is shown that the Poisson's ratio increases with increasing disorder in the models. |
