The present work concerns with the study of operating parameters of carbon nanotubes production on Fe/Al2O3 catalyst by CVD. Experiments have been carried out on a system assisted by a sensitive microbalance capable to measure in situ the weight changes of the sample in the reactor with time. The experimental results show that the process and the reduction temperature of the iron affects the structure of the catalyst modifying the deposition rate. Increase of the metallic catalyst concentration is found to lead to higher amounts of material deposited. The produced material is studied through scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Raman spectroscopy revealing multiwall carbon nanotubes. |
