NMM 2004 Proceedings are planned to be published in Reviews on Advanced Materials Science Journal.

Submission of Abstracts for Oral and Poster Presentations: Anyone interested in making a contribution to the Conference is invited to submit a half page abstract in English. The abstracts (plain texts) may be submitted via email sending email with an application form to Dr M.Yu. Gutkin,

The abstracts must be submitted by APRIL 5, 2004. (If an author has multiple authors who each wish an invitation to attend the Conference, each author must submit a separate application.)

Entertainment

Optional excursion tours will be organized for participants of the workshop, including tours to State Hermitage, Rusian Museum, etc. The tentative list of key tours is attached.

• Sightseeing excursion round the city Guided bus tour will introduce you to history and contemporary life of St.Petersburg, the leading cultural center of Russia. Among those who lived and created many of their immortal works here were Alexander Pushkin, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Fyodor Dostoevsky. Participants of the workshop will admire exquisite architectural ensembles created by master architects and see the most interesting spots and monuments.
• State Hermitage
  The world's largest museum, a treasure- house of art and culture containing the richest collection of fine art in the world. Perhaps only the British Museum and the Louvre can rival The Hermitage in scale and importance. 2,790,000 items including paintings, sculptures, graphics, various objects of applied art, coins, medals and others treasures from all over the world dating from hoary antiquity to the present are kept in luxurious apartments of Russian royal family.
• Russian Museum
  The home of one of the finest collections of Russian art from 11 century to the present. Surikov, Repin, Vrubel are represented comprehensively. Like The Hermitage, The Russian Museum periodically mounts new displays and opens new exhibitions.
• "Peterhof" Museum-Reserve
  An 18th century monument of architecture and landscape gardening. It is one of the most exciting places in the environs of St.Petersburg. Peterhof is famous throughout the world for its 144 fountains, which are masterpiece of hydraulics. The fountains that adorn the formal park are The Great Cascade, The Chessboard Hill and The Golden Hill. You will see also The Grand Palace, Monplaisir and Marly. A special attraction is newly opened Grot. Depending on weather we suggest to deliver the group there and back by boat.
• Peter and Paul Fortress
  The spot from which St. Petersburg began to grow, the historical center of the city. Visiting Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul where almost all the Russian tsars were buried including the family of the last tsar Nicolas II.
• Mariinsky Opera House
  The opera and ballet companies are well known everywhere. The season's repertoire includes classics by Russian and foreign composers ( among them the matchless ballets "Swan Lake", "Gisselle", "Korsar". There will be some other arrangements which will make stay of participants of the workshop in St.Petersburg unforgettable.
