"PATTERNS AND WAVES:
THEORY AND APPLICATIONS"
(PWTA'2002)
8 July (Mon) - 13 July (Fr) 2002
St.Petersburg (Russia)
The International Seminar "Patterns and Waves: Theory and Applications" is organized by
Centre National De La Recherche Scientifique (CNRS)
Hosted by: Institute of Problems of Mechanical Engineering RAS
The seminar is partially supported by the CNRS and by Region Rhone-Alpes through the projects PICS and Tempra.
This informal meeting has been organized to discuss the latest development and advances in patterns and waves problems, both from the theoretical and more applied points of view. Its primary goal is to bring together groups of researchers working in disparate application areas, but who nevertheless share common models, phenomenological features arising in such problems, and common mathematical tools.
You are invited to participate in PWTA'2002 if you have an interest in any aspects of pattern and waves research. Meetings will include only oral sessions. Please circulate this information to your colleagues.
The official language of the Seminar will be English and French.

Perhaps you would like to stay some days in the city of St. Petersburg. We can recommend you an "academic" hotel complex "Nauka", which gives reduced prices for persons invited by Russian Academy of Sciences. The conditions are appropriate. The complex has two buildings. One building is situated not far from the Hermitage (25-30 minutes by feet from "Nevsky prospect" underground station), and another building is situated in 5-10 minutes by feet from underground station "Udelnaya", which is approximately in 20 minutes by underground from Nevsky prospect and approximately 45 minutes by train from Repino railway station.
The address of the hotel "Nauka" is:
Please if your prefer to live in "Nauka" hotel, could you inform us about exact days of your stay there. We need this information at least in a month in advance before your coming to make a reservation.
If you prefer another variant of accommodation, we can also help you and reserve a hotel by your choice. However the price in good hotels ("St. Petersburg", "Europe") is approximately US$140-$300 per day.

During the period of white nights all the hotels in St. Petersburg are full and it is a real problem to find an accommodation. The earlier we have exact information on the dates of your stay, the higher is probability to reserve for you better accommodation for a reasonable price.
