The main objective of this work is based on a numerical study of delamination behavior between an elastic body and a rigid support, taking into account the thermal effect.

A cohesive zone model (CZM) coupling friction and adhesion is used and implemented in the finite element software ABAQUS which allows to gives a smooth transition from total adhesion to the usual Coulomb friction law with unilateral contact, where adhesion is regarded as interface damage. Also, a sequentially coupled thermal stress model is performed to predict the thermomechanical behavior assuming a steady-state thermal analysis. The influence of the decohesion energy, the interface initial stiffnesses, and friction coefficient are analyzed. The results showed that the thermal effect is not negligible and can affect the delamination process in failure modes I and II. The proposed numerical model is in good agreement with the results compared to those obtained in the literature.
